1,000,000th Collection Completed
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve completed our 1,000,000th HIPPOBAG collection. It’s a huge milestone for us here at HIPPO and we couldn’t be more pleased.
Having started out in 2003 as a small local business collecting our bags in the southern counties, we’ve now had the good fortune to grow into a respected and recognised waste brand, with products sold nationwide, through the UK’s largest DIY retailers and online.
This morning, our Managing Director Gareth Lloyd-Jones and company mascot ‘Harry the HIPPO’, went with Driver Lee Beauchamp to complete the collection and hand over the HIPPO Hamper to the lucky millionth customers Steve and Sara Trapp in Guildford.
Steve and Sara were surprised and delighted when we called yesterday to give them the good news.
“It’s a pleasure to be named HIPPO’s Millionth HIPPOBAG Collection customer, we’re absolutely thrilled. We chose a HIPPOBAG as we’re in the process of moving house, and find them perfect for having a clear out.
We’ve already used HIPPO twice this year to clear our garden and house ready for our move and every time the service has been excellent. A HIPPOBAG is far more flexible than a skip - we particularly like the way we can store them until we’re ready to use them and simply contact HIPPO when they’re ready for collection. We’ll be taking a HIPPOBAG with us to our new property and will definitely use HIPPO again.”
We’ve been celebrating today at HIPPO Head Office, with a ‘Millionth Collection’ celebratory buffet and baking competition and certificates for Driver Lee and Senior Contact Centre Administrator Beverley Downer, who took the call and booked the millionth collection.
