We're giving more grants than ever to help local projects, charities and community initiatives. Take a look at some of the great projects that have recently been completed with HIPPO's help. To learn more about the scheme, visit the Grants Up for Grabs page.

1st bisley scout group

Bisley Scout & Guide HQ is used every week by children in Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Guides, Brownies, Rainbows, a pre-school as well as the building being used for other village events and activities. When the hot water boiler broke down irreparably, significant modifications were going to be needed to the building’s plumbing and electrics to allow a modern boiler to be fitted and this required completely clearing the loft space of the building to gain necessary access.

Faced with having to clear out a huge array of obsolete camping equipment, spare tent poles, old tent canvas and various other bric-a-brac dating back to when the building was constructed in the 1970s, the Scout Group turned to HIPPO for help. HIPPO were glad to donate a free HIPPOSKIP and collection to deal with this waste.

“We are extremely grateful to HIPPO for their support with this project. The waste that we had was large and bulky, and the skip was absolutely ideal to deal with everything quickly and efficiently.”

Netley Marsh School Association

Netley Marsh School hold an annual grounds day, as they don't have a caretaker or groundskeeper to take care of the school grounds.

Staff, parents and pupils all give up their time to help clean tidy to get the grounds ready for the summer. They had people painting sheds, planting plants, sweeping up and of course getting rid of all the rubbish that accumulates around the school.

"We would like to thank HIPPO as the free hipposkip was a HUGe help on our grounds day.

We take great pride in our school and it is great to see the fantastic community spirit from all those involved in our ground day events. So thank you for helping us to make sure our school looks its best!"

Pathways Care Farm

Pathways are a great cause who run an incredible project to help mentally ill people. They are a fairly new charity who are restoring a derelict farm for use as a care farm, which will provide therapeutic support for people with ill mental health, learning difficulties or Dementia.

They have very limited resources and rely on volunteer help. They needed to gather up and dispose of a lot of waste material to get the farm ready for its restoration.

"The speed and efficiency of Grants Up 4 Grabs along with their willingness to help us was a tremendous help and a great encouragement to our team."

Princes Trust Team 118

As part of a project the Princes Trust team were undertaking, they had dug up several overgrown areas in a school playground. After digging the areas up, new top-soil was applied and fresh flowers planted. The HIPPOBAG's were used to collect all of the weeds, overgrown grass and other garden waste that was removed from the playground.

"The school was very grateful for all of the work that we did. The project would not have been a success without the use of the HIPPOBAGs."
