Collection Representative (HGV Driver) - Full time - Permanent

HIPPO™ is a revolutionary National Waste Management Company, providing innovative and integrated waste and recycling solutions. We are currently looking for a reliable, conscientious and motivated HGV Driver to work out of our Chelmsford Depot.

You will provide an excellent customer service collection and/or delivery service to all of HIPPO’S customers and clients by creating a satisfied customer every time.  In this customer-facing role, you will need to be professional and helpful, flexible hours are a must as you will be working an average 48 hour week over 5 variable days including alternate Saturdays.  The position includes an element of ‘nights out’ and physical duties such as manual handling and the use of a vehicle ladder.  You must possess a HGV Class C licence, have a valid DCPC, and preferably have a Lorry Loading certificate, although this is not essential as training can be provided to the successful candidate. You’ll be part of a Company that is not only growing fast, but is environmentally focused.

National Sales Manager

HIPPOTM is the company behind the yellow HIPPOBAGTM which delivers flexible and convenient waste management solutions to householders, business and trade users nationwide. HIPPO is committed to creating and developing ways for its customers to dispose of their waste or unwanted materials in an ethical, efficient and cost-effective manner.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, experienced National Sales Manager to lead and manage the Business Solutions team in the acquisition of business-to-business accounts and the development of existing accounts through the development of profitable waste management solutions.

Reporting to the Customer Services Director, key responsibilities will include:

  • Development of Sales strategy to support the business plan
  • Development and management of the new business prospecting strategy and processes
  • Acquisition of major prospects and conversion of them into valuable customers
  • Retention and development of national accounts, with responsibility for the management and development of specified accounts
  • Ensuring appropriate communication is established with Marketing, Operations and Finance teams to meet the contractual obligation of customer contracts

As well as having a strong track record in generating sales, you will have extensive sales management experience and have proven your ability to lead and develop a sales team. Sales management experience gained within the Waste Management sector is advantageous. Based from the Head Office in Portsmouth, you will spend 2 to 3 days a week travelling to clients sites within the UK; therefore a full driving licence is essential.

Business Solutions Manager

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Sales, the Business Solutions Manager will be responsible for increasing sales of the Company’s products into regions and markets as directed, whilst developing and maintaining customer relationships to ensure repeat and continued business. In addition, the Business Solutions Manager will be responsible for managing or assisting with trials and rollouts to new sites, clients or business areas and provide toolbox talks to end users. The Business Solutions Manager will possess a hands on approach, which will enhance and help improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the Business Solutions Team.

The successful candidate will have a proven background in generating new business and account management. You will be a driven, dynamic and sales focused individual. The role will involve attending appointments with customer and therefore a full driving licence is essential.
