Collection Representative

Bristol & Oxford

HIPPO™ is a revolutionary National Waste Management Company, providing innovative and integrated waste and recycling solutions. We are currently looking for a reliable, conscientious and motivated HGV Drivers to work out of our national Depots.

You will provide an excellent customer service collection and/or delivery service to all of HIPPO’S customers and clients by creating a satisfied customer every time. In this customer-facing role, you will need to be professional and helpful, flexible hours are a must as you will be working over 5 variable days including occasional Saturdays. The position includes physical duties such as manual handling and the use of a vehicle ladder. There will be a requirement to do some “nights out”. You must possess a HGV Class C licence, have a valid DCPC, and preferably have a Lorry Loading certificate, although this is not essential as training can be provided to the successful candidate. You’ll be part of a Company that is not only growing fast but is environmentally focused.

Any offer of employment to this role will be subject to a basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Waste Contracts Manager

Full Time Permanent

As the Waste Contracts Manager your responsibility will be to execute the Waste Buying Strategy and to contribute to the evolution of the wider business strategy. Specifically, to identify and negotiate waste disposal agreements with disposal suppliers that is in-line with business commercial objectives and market requirements.  Supporting the company’s ambition to develop innovative products and services for waste logistics.

Responsibilities will include:

  •  Develop the Waste Buying Strategy to support the business plan, identifying and engaging all stakeholders in the execution and ongoing development of the strategy
  • Agree commercially acceptable pricing, service levels, terms and contracts
  • Establish a programme to define and track the waste composition
  • Develop the processes for gathering and predicting recyclate commodity price levels and also for acquiring and maintaining market intelligence
  • Supervise and manage the Waste Contracts Buyer and Waste Contracts Co-ordinator
  • Develop objectives and targets for the team, monitor and manage the performance of the team and individuals through direct engagement
  • Identify and measure all relevant UK disposal suppliers to produce supplier grading, developing a supplier engagement programme
  • Prepare commercial proposals
  • Develop and implement a supplier relationship management programme
  • Foster closer relationships between “strategic” suppliers and company Executives
  • Search out new opportunities to extract value from the waste stream or supplier process changes
  • Ensure Hippowaste is regulatory, legally compliant and commercially protected, and introduce processes and systems to support the business in that goal
  • Keep informed and up-to-date with the latest waste legislation and Environmental Agency requirements, and when appropriate disseminate this information within the wider business
  • Reporting against existing, and develop as necessary, key performance indicators (KPIs) for the areas of responsibility
  • Regularly update and report on the waste composition analysis

Business Solutions Manager

HIPPO is committed to creating and developing ways for its customers to dispose of their waste or unwanted materials in an ethical, efficient and cost-effective manner.

The Business Solutions Manager will be responsible for increasing sales of the Company’s products into regions and markets as directed, whilst developing and maintaining customer relationships to ensure repeat and continued business. In addition, the Business Solutions Manager will be responsible for managing or assisting with trials and rollouts to new sites, customers or business areas. The Business Solutions Manager will possess a hands on approach, which will enhance and help improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the Business Solutions Team.

The successful candidate will have a proven background in generating new business and account management with demonstrable knowledge and experience of the waste industry. You will be a driven, dynamic, sales and service focused individual.

This position is Portsmouth based, with national travel so a full driving licence is essential and we offer a competitive benefits package.
