Through our new collaboration, we can help programmes that lower or remove carbon from the environment, such as creation of renewable energy, by investing in carbon-offsetting projects. We recognise that carbon-offsetting is just one step and that reducing our carbon footprint is essential to achieving a sustainable future. Therefore, we are committed to taking action to reduce our carbon emissions wherever possible. At HIPPO we have already been working hard on a meaningful reduction in our carbon output. Thanks to a heavy investment in new vehicles and technology we have achieved fantastic results in carbon reduction. Since 2016 our carbon emissions have been reduced by 37%, thanks to:
- Running our entire fleet on the new efficient Euro 6 engine
- Cutting edge routing software has made every trip we make more effective
- Adapting our facilities to be energy efficient
We look to be practicing cutting edge environmentally friendly waste collection techniques and are constantly reviewing new approaches to reduce our environmental impact. We recently conducted an audit of HIPPO's carbon emissions and our carbon reduction strategies from 2023 onward will be guided by this
