Mortgage Free In '23 Terms and Conditions
1. PROMOTER
The Promoter of the "Win your mortgage/rent paid for 1 year prize draw" ("HIPPO Prize Draw") is HIPPO which is a trading name of Waste Management Systems Ltd, with its registered address at 1000 Lakeside, North Harbour, Portsmouth, Hampshire PO6 3EN ("Promoter").
2. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
You accept and agree to these terms and conditions by entering the HIPPO Prize Draw. If you do not agree with any of these terms and conditions then you should not enter.
3. ELIGIBILITY
The HIPPO Prize Draw is open to all residents of Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) only aged 18 years or over, except employees of the Promoter, their families, agents or any third party directly associated with administration of the HIPPO Prize Draw.
You cannot be entered into the HIPPO Prize Draw if you live in Northern Ireland because of the law governing prize draws in Northern Ireland.
To be eligible to enter the HIPPO Prize Draw, you must purchase a Qualifying Product from a Qualifying Retailer within the Qualifying Time Period and enter online as explained below.
You will not be eligible to enter the HIPPO Prize Draw if you have returned the Qualifying Product to the Qualifying Retailer before 10th June 2022.
4. QUALIFYING RETAILERS
Qualifying Products must be purchased from one of the following Qualifying Retailers either in store or online:
- B&Q Limited (B&Q)
- Wickes Building Supplies Limited (Wickes)
- Waste Management Systems Ltd (hippowaste.co.uk)
The purchase and delivery of the product must take place in England, Scotland or Wales.
5. QUALIFYING PRODUCTS
Qualifying Products include any new HIPPOBAG product (i.e. the MIDIBAG, MEGABAG or HIPPOSKIP) purchased from a Qualifying Retailer with or without the collection service.
6. QUALIFYING TIME PERIOD
Qualifying Products must be purchased from a Qualifying Retailer from 00:01 on 1st April 2022 to 23:59 on 31st May 2022 BST (the "Qualifying Time Period").
7. PRIZE
The prize is a single payment to 1 (one) winner which is equivalent to their mortgage or rent payments on their main UK residence for a period of 1 (one) year up to the maximum value of £12,000 (twelve thousand pounds) (“the mortgage payment and/or rent payment”), subject to the following terms and conditions:
Entrants must have an existing mortgage in accordance with a valid written mortgage agreement in respect of their main residence located in Great Britain or be paying rent in accordance with a valid written tenancy agreement in respect of a property located in Great Britain and have made all payments due at the time of entering the HIPPO Prize Draw.
The Promoter will not pay any mortgage arrears or unpaid rent existing at the time of entering into the HIPPO Prize Draw.
The mortgage payment and/or rent payment will be paid in a single lump sum. It will be calculated by the Promoter based on the existing monthly mortgage or rent payment due to be paid by the winner in June 2022 multiplied by 12 (twelve) (up to the maximum value of £12,000 (twelve thousand pounds) and will include the following elements:
a) capital repayments; and/or
b) interest charges on the mortgage; and/or
c) payments of premiums due in respect of an endowment or similar insurance policy directly linked to the mortgage; and/or
d) the monthly rent payment as specified in the winner’s tenancy agreement. Where payments are weekly, the Promoter will make the appropriate re-calculation.
Where the winner has a joint mortgage and/or rent, the Promoter will pay an amount calculated upon the full amount of the monthly payment due in June 2022, and not just the winner’s share.
In the event that the winner’s monthly payments increase at any time, the Promoter shall have no obligation to make any additional payments to cover any such increase.
The Promoter will require documentary evidence of any such mortgage or rent existing payments paid by the winner for the three months prior to the date of the winner confirmation (e.g. mortgage statements, bank statements, rent books, etc) (“Evidence”).
In the event that the winner is unable to provide the Promoter with such Evidence to the Promoter’s satisfaction, the Promoter shall be entitled to disqualify the winner from winning the mortgage payment and/or rent payment element of the prize.
In the event that the winner’s mortgage or rent payments are not as described above (e.g. a current account mortgage such as a ‘Virgin One’ account), or if the winner’s mortgage or rental arrangements are not clearly identifiable from a mortgage agreement or tenancy agreement, then the Promoter shall decide in its sole discretion the amount to be paid to the winner based on any other evidence of mortgage or rent payments which can be given by the winner.
In the event that the winner disagrees with the Promoter’s decision as to the amount to be paid by the Promoter the dispute shall be referred (at the Promoter’s cost) to an independent financial advisor, to be appointed by the Promoter, who shall decide upon the dispute and whose decision shall be final and binding upon the Promoter and the winner.
The prize excludes any associated costs and expenses which may be incurred by the winner or which are related to the winner’s mortgage or rent.
The mortgage payment and/or rent payment will be paid by BACS (within 28 days of the winner providing the Evidence to the Promoter's satisfaction and their bank details) made out in the name of the winner only to an account with a UK bank or building society in the name of the winner (or to a joint account of which the winner is one named account holder). Failure to provide the relevant details may result in forfeiture of the mortgage payment and/or rent payment. The prize for the winner is non-exchangeable and non-transferable.
In the event that the winner does not have mortgage and/or rent payments or the winner is unable to provide the Promoter with Evidence to the Promoter’s satisfaction, the Promoter may decide in its sole discretion to award the sum of £10,000 (ten thousand pounds) to the winner. Payment will be made via BACS to an account with a UK bank or building society account in the name (or joint name) of the winner only.
8. HOW TO ENTER
To enter the HIPPO Prize Draw, you must visit hippowaste.co.uk/MortgageFree between 9am on 1st April 2022 and 11pm on 10th June 2022 and complete and submit the entry form.
You are required to provide your name, email address, address of residence in Great Britain, and a clear copy of the receipt showing purchase of a Qualifying Product from a Qualifying Retailer within the Qualifying Time Period.
A confirmation email will be provided following submission of the entry form and a second email will be provided following validation of the receipt. The second email will either confirm your entry to HIPPO Prize Draw or inform you that your entry was not successful due to not meeting the qualifying terms.
Entries from companies, organisations, associations, agents, third parties, organized groups, syndicates or anyone using aliases will not be accepted.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault of any kind.
9. ENTRY LIMIT
Each Qualifying Product purchased from a Qualifying Retailer within the Qualifying Time Period will enable one entry to the HIPPO Prize Draw.
If multiple Qualifying Products are purchased on the same receipt, then only one entry form submission online is required – each Qualifying Product on the submitted receipt will qualify for one entry.
There is a maximum of 10 entries per person to the HIPPO Prize Draw.
10. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
The winner will be chosen at random by the Promoter, and a confirmation email will be sent with further instructions on 20th June 2022 to the email address provided by the winner at the time of entry. The winner will have until 4pm on 4th July 2022 to respond and claim the prize. The Promoter will send an email as a reminder on 24th June 2022 and 29th June 2022 if the prize is not claimed by these dates.
If the prize is not claimed by 4pm on 4th July 2022, is rejected, the entry is invalid or in breach of these terms and conditions, then the prize is forfeited by the winner and the Promoter shall be entitled to select another winner (and that person will have to respond to notification of their win within 14 days or else they will also forfeit their prize).
11. DATA PROTECTION & PRIVACY
The Promoter is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy and will only use your personal information in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and the HIPPO Privacy Policy which is available on: https://www.hippowaste.co.uk/privacy-policy/
By entering the HIPPO Prize Draw, you agree that any personal information provided by you with your entry may be held and used by the Promoter or its agents and suppliers for the purposes of administering and fulfilling the HIPPO Prize Draw.
The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will send the surname and county of the prize winners to anyone who writes to HIPPO, 1000 Lakeside, North Harbour, Portsmouth, Hampshire PO6 3EN (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) after 31st July 2022.
If you object to any or all of your surname and county being published or made available, please contact the Promoter enquiries@hippowaste.co.uk. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
12. MARKETING
By agreeing to receive further marketing information, you agree to receive emails from the Promoter. The Promoter will send you details of our latest promotions and discounts or relevant news about HIPPO, our products and services. The Promoter will never share or sell your personal information and you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link within any email or by contacting web.enquiries@hippowaste.co.uk. 13. WHAT IS EXPECTED OF THE WINNER – PRIZE DRAW PUBLICITY
By taking part in the HIPPO prize draw, you agree to participate in publicity at the Promoter’s request if you are the winner. If you are the winner, you agree that the Promoter, a Qualifying Retailer or any third party nominated by the Promoter may in its sole discretion use your name, your voice, your image, your photograph and your comments relating to the prize for future advertising, promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide (e.g. on the internet including the Promoter's and/or Qualifying Retailer's website and social media, local and national press, and radio) and without notice and without any fee being paid.
14. GENERAL
The Promoter is not liable for any lack of availability of stock of Qualifying Products held by the Qualifying Retailers.
The Promoter is not liable for any issues relating to the sale and purchase of a Qualifying Product, such as delivery, quality and description, unless the product has been purchased directly from the Promoter. These issues should be raised with the Qualifying Retailer from whom you purchased the product.
The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the HIPPO Prize Draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it unless these terms and conditions specify otherwise.
The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the HIPPO Prize Draw with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud).
Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of participating in the HIPPO Prize Draw or taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees.
The prize draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the prize draw submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
