We do not buy personal data (such as mailing lists), nor do we use third parties to provide additional information about you.

Depending on the services purchased, we may share your information with our suppliers to fulfil our commitment to you. These suppliers include:

• Courier services for delivery of HIPPOBAGs Skip Hire partners for the provision of metal skips
• Skip Hire partners for the provision of metal skips

We do not share your information with any third party for any purpose other than fulfilling our contractual obligations unless compelled to do so by law.


6. How long we keep information

We store your personal information for varying periods of time, depending on the criteria below:

Individual user accounts User accounts are retained for seven years after the completion date of the last transaction
Booking and collection photographs These are retained for twenty-seven months after the collection date
Vehicle video footage Video footage is retained for six months except where it is used as evidence in a complaint or insurance claim
Voice recordings Calls to and from our team are retained for three months except where it is used as evidence in a complaint or insurance claim

 


7. Email marketing and opt-out

Upon making a purchase you can opt in to receive reminders about using your HIPPOBAG and occasional emails containing useful information and promotions from HIPPOBAG. You can opt out at any time by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ link contained within the email or by emailing info@hippowaste.co.uk.

We never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us in ways unrelated to those described above without also providing an opportunity for you to opt out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses. All payment information is processed by approved Payment Gateway Services (such as Stripe and GlobalPayments) and all internet transactions are secured by Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode. Card information is taken over an SSL encrypted server verified by VeriSign. HIPPO do not store or retain any banking information once a payment has been processed.

We may use 'cookies' for administrative purposes such as cataloguing traffic patterns throughout the website or commission payments to third party sellers to identify a purchase has been made (but not the details of the individuals making the purchase) and can use a cookie to assign a 'user ID' for this purpose. Cookies, by themselves, cannot be used to find out the identity of any user. If you have a user ID this will automatically identify your computer - but not you - to our server when you visit our website. Unless you specifically tell us, we will never know who you are, even if we do assign a cookie to your computer.
