Grants Up For Grabs: LoveBread

LB LogoLoveBread is a not for profit company providing community outreach, workshops and of course fantastic, real bread in the village of Brighouse near Halifax.

Proud supporters of the Real Bread Campaign, the founders of LoveBread believe that the food staple has far more to offer than just filling our lunch boxes each day. All the bread is baked by hand from natural ingredients, and as well as teaching the community how to make real bread themselves, they support efforts to make bread better for us and better for the environment.

The bakery is situated on a plot of land which had become overgrown and out of control. The LoveBread team saw the potential of the space and had visions of turning it into a working herb garden, so that they could grow ingredients on site. Unfortunately the cost of removing the waste made the job impossible.

That is until HIPPO donated a free MEGABAG and collection package to get the project underway.

The team of volunteers quickly got to work clearing the excess foliage and rubbish that had collected over the years. The MEGABAG made short work of it and the garden soon took shape. It is now a fully functioning herb garden with an outdoor pizza oven! The community are already making great use of the additional facilities and will continue to for years to come.
